My ePortfolio Experience So Far....

Learning From Others

Through this experience, I have learned so much about the purpose of creating and using ePortfolios. Although, there is truly no right way or "one way" to create an ePortfolio, some key takeaways that I have learned include:

• Make a meaningful connection! If you don't make a true connection to the purpose of creating your ePortfolio in the first place, you are less likely to keep up with it in the long run. Let the site be a place where you can reflect on your experiences and keep track of what all you have accomplished and how far you've come in your career and in life.
• Navigation and creativity are key! Make sure your site and tabs are well organized, easily accessible, and user friendly to the viewer. Allow your personality to shine through your site so people get a sense of who you are and what you stand for!
• Collaboration and feedback are essential! I've always known collaboration is an important tool to use to be successful. This experience has allowed me to more open to collaboration with peers to get feedback on ways to improve. It is important to have an open mindset to any and all feedback. Collaboration allows you to grow and find ways to continue to get better!

Getting to look through other's ePortfolio's has sparked so many ideas on ways to change/improve mine. It also can be used as a great tool to use to network with colleagues, peers, mentors, etc. throughout your life and career. In conclusion, ePortfolios are a great tool to have and keep up with when the meaningful connection to the purpose of it is made. 

Choosing what platform was probably one of the coolest parts of this experience. A variety of different platforms and websites were recommended to use. Some were a little difficult to use and weren't as user friendly as others. Some of the platforms I explored include Wix, Weebly, Wordpress, Squarespace, and Google Sites. I ended up choosing Webnode because it was what I thought to be the most user friendly and allowed me to express myself through in ePortfolio the best that I knew how. Wednode had all of the elements I was looking for to build a successful and creative site that was just right for me!

This has been a such an enjoyable experience getting to explore a build new things!
